THE VERSUS SERIES! -October Theme 2009

Poor Ka-Zar, I hope your sabertoothed tiger friend is around, he seems to be the brighter of the two of you!

Well this certainly didn't evolve as originally planned, but it has entertained me nonetheless! Done for our October "Versus" Challenge. What? It's close to the end of November? Why wasn't I alerted to this?

THE VERSUS SERIES! -October Theme 2009

Here is yet another entry for D.D.T.'s October theme (VERSUS). It features Daredevil squaring off against Ironfist on the most likely battlefield for all superhero throwdowns; the 45 cover of a children's record.

Ironfist was my childhood fave and DD was my cousin Demian's fave. As kids we used to argue over who would actually win. I believe that they finally did duke it out in the 2nd issue of Contest of Champions, to which we concluded it was pretty much a draw. DD pulled some lame crap and threw a snowball into my boy's face to gain the advantage if I correctly recall! I'll dig it out an' confirm this someday since I know that SOOOO many of you's guys are dying to know this! Until then, enjoy or feel the pain (whichever you prefer)!

Conan The Barbarian

Conan De Barbaar always keeps it classy!

Done between feedings, diaper changes, and tantrums. Then I also had to take care of the kids! Hi-OOOOOOOh!

Yeah. Well anyway, that's how far I got before I gave up. Still gonna paint it and do it up in the magic computer box when I can.

Gotham City of the French Batman without Robin

The french adaptation that we've all been waiting for. At long last it is in the works, rumors are that Gerard Day-Pardoo and Jean Reno are in the lead roles of Bats an' Joker. Stay tuned, I was sooo privileged to be chosen as a concept artist on this project. This is the album cover from the original soundtrack coming out on vinyl 45's very soon!

The Red Balloon

Great classic flick. Don't die without seeing it if you can. Yes it's French, but it's only a half hour long and there's very little dialogue, you can handle it.

Some Inking Practice With the Brush Pen

This is a panel for practice from The Art of Comic Book Inking by Gary Martin. Inked with a Pentel brush pen. Not very good yet, but it's practice. More to come!

Long Live McGoohan and the Prisoner

The Prisoner starring Patrick McGoohan was my favorite spy show of all time. It was absolutely unlike any other show ever on television and McGoohan was the reason for it's greatness. I always hoped he would be around to oversee a film version of his show but unfortunately he passed before his time. One of my all time favorite characters created and played by the only guy who could've played that role. Thanks Erb, I would've never known about the Prisoner if it weren't for you! Be seeing you...

Welcome and Happy 2009!

It's a little bit sad I suppose to kick off the new year with a post of fallen stars from the past couple of months, but oh well, we posts what we gots, so please enjoy and stay tuned for more! Not necessarily just more dead celebrities either!

First off, Bettie Page and Eartha Kitt. Their unique looks and attitude will be long remembered.

Next up, a couple of guys who know a thing or two about mysterious places, Mr. Roarke and Number Six!
